Why Home Fragrance and Décor?....
Àrà Household began because we saw the toll the pandemic had on many people’s mental health. The lock down and the resultant effects brought a lot of strain, causing many to struggle with their identity. Thus, we started to create home fragrances and décor that help each customer create an oasis of peace, relieve stress, improve mood and mental wellbeing, and surround you with beauty, particularly as many of you now find yourselves working from home.

Additionally, we believe each customer is royalty, and ensure that each purchase includes a carefully crafted affirmation that reminds you of your identity. We are therefore bringing the fragrance of the King into every space, one customer at a time.

Charitable giving is an integral part of our mission and so we are always looking for ways to give back to our community both through monetary support and service.
The Genesis....
You’ll agree with me that as humans, there’s just something about us and smell — most of us love wonderfully scented spaces. We love beautiful things, gravitate towards them, and want to have them because that’s how we were wired, beauty just recognizes beauty. And for some of us, we have the ability to curate and combine them in such beautiful ways. I am one of such. I have always had a natural affinity for combining beautiful things and colors, particularly fragrances and fabrics and have always been complemented about how I smell or how my home looks and smells for as long as I remember. So, I was not surprised when on a cool Tuesday evening in February of 2021 the idea of starting a home décor and fragrance line came to me.
Prior to this time, I had been praying and asking God for direction on what to do as I felt He was calling me into business, but I had no clue exactly what I was to offer. That evening, I was flipping through Instagram stories (something unusual for me as I hardly ever viewed stories), and as I did, I came across a picture of an array of candle jars as the candles were being made and for some reason, I couldn’t shake off the image. Next thing I knew, I was up all night researching about them. You won’t believe it that when I woke up the next morning, the scripture I had for declaration was from Proverbs 31:18 which reads,” She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night” And I was like, “what are the odds – that I stay up late into the night researching about candles, only to wake up the next morning to read a scripture mentioning candle not going out!” So, I knew this was God confirming the idea to me and that was how the process started.
The Mandate....
During my preparation to start the business, God began to give me more insights about what He actually wants to do with the brand — that this is not just about making products available to His children, but more importantly about bringing the fragrance of His Presence into their spaces. Here is how it was explained to me:
"You found out that you are royalty, that your Father is the King of a mighty kingdom……. and you’ve just been informed your living quarters are now in the palace……. When you envision this space that is now yours, what do you see? What does it look like? What does it smell like? How does it make you feel? Do you see luxurious quarters?...... opulent furnishings?…..Elegant pieces dotted around you? .....Does it smell like heaven? Does it make you feel loved? cherished? whole?…….. that’s how I want my children to feel with these products"
Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life. 2 Corinthians 2:15 MSG
The Promise....
Anywhere you are, we want you to be surrounded by sweet aroma, taking the pressure off you……in the office, you can have our elegantly crafted mist diffusers dissipating fragrant essentials oils into the atmosphere to help you with your work and relieve stress……..you get into your car and are greeted with scents that just make you feel good….or you step into your home, and are welcomed with sweet smells wafting from reed diffusers strategically placed around your home ………you light one of our luxury candles as you run a bath and sink in, letting the warm bubble bath soak away all the day's stress and you are transported to happy times and beautiful places.....or being greeted with wonderful fragrance from our linen spray as you turn down the sheets and get in bed.....you feel this sense of peace, of wellbeing, that all is well with your world…..
It’s this sense of wellbeing, of peace, of opulence and luxury that ÀRÀ HOUSEHOLD is created to bring to you. Àrà in my mother tongue means “Wonder” and that’s literally what we want to bring to your space. We know how you feel is very closely connected with your senses of smell and sight, so we want to surround you with beauty and magnificence through carefully curated and beautifully crafted luxury home décor and fragrances that fill you with a sense of wonder. We also want to constantly remind you of who you are, Whose you are, what you deserve, and what you are capable of by not only surrounding you with items that speak of your elevated status, but also adding scriptures that affirm this! With ÀRÀ HOUSEHOLD range of products, you get a slice of heaven wherever you are!

The Vessel....
Nigeria born, Dr. Temitope Alimi is an Atlanta based Public Health Specialist who has always loved fragrances and beautiful spaces. She has an affinity for decorating and combining colors, and loves to help others, so it was only natural for her to create beautiful products based on these passions for others to enjoy. The ÀRÀ HOUSEHOLD Home Fragrance and Décor line launched with fragranced products first, but the story is just beginning!
